Phil Jackson once said, “There is more to life than basketball, but there is more to basketball than basketball”. Naim not only believes in this statement, but he is a living example of how the game of basketball can be used to open doors and teach life lessons that translate off the court. He credits much of his leadership skills and work ethic to his time as an athlete.

Originally from Waldorf, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C., Naim attended North Point High School. After a successful high school basketball career, he chose to attend Shepherd University to continue his athletic career and academic studies.

Known for having a high IQ for the game and good academic habits, it was a natural choice for Naim to get involved in coaching and education. Since graduating he has worked in leadership roles for several camps, served as a skill development coach for middle school children, been an assistant coach at the college, high school, and AAU level, and served in various roles in higher education roles. 

In addition to his passion for athletics and academics, Naim has continued to grow his digital creative skills. After college Naim did freelance social media consulting for brands and businesses, and helping his entrepreneur peers think of social media marketing campaigns. In the fall of 2020 Naim started Naim Muhammad Photography. Since then has captured portrait style pictures for families, sports, businesses, and more.

Currently, Naim serves as a teacher and coach at North Point High School.
